Mark’s treatment plan

Mark has had surgery to remove the cancerous tumor on 3/16/05. The surgery went well, and now he is being treated with radiation and chemotherapy to remove any residual cancer cells that may have spread from the tumor but are too small to be visible. Chemotherapy was begun on April 19th, and will continue for 4-6 months. He will get radiation 5 days a week for 6-8 weeks; they will be staying in Lexington during this time. After about 3-4 months, the doctors will do new scans to see how the cancer is responding to treatment, and adjust the treatment plan from there.
